In 2016, we’ve seen how silver- and gold metallic accessories, shoes and ultimately clothing become an undeniable trend, after labels such as Calvin Klein and Dsquared2 or designers like Christopher Kane and Katie Eary made a nod to the ‘60s Space Age in their fall/winter’16 runway shows.
At the same time, the spring/summer’17 collection of Saint Laurent, under the tenure of newly-arrived creative director Anthony Vaccarello, confirmed that the potential of sexy lame dresses in womenswear and other ‘80s fashion inspired garments was high.
Logically, several denim- and contemporary brands took well note of the movement towards gleam. Just looking at the first images for the fall/winter’17 collection, you could definitely tell that the trend has a long life to run for leather- and bomber jackets.
