Forget fake furs made from synthetic plushy fabrics–Kiev-based fashion label Ksenia Schnaider is here to give you a much more naturally made fur alternative. After its “Demi-Denims” (a tricky jeans style with a shorts-worn-over-long-trousers look) conquered street style galleries and Instagram last year, the wife-and-husband duo has come up with another unique denim “it” piece for the colder season: Denim fur.

Using its own “authoring technology,” the plushy denim pieces are totally handmade in a process that takes about one week per item. Denim stripes are cut, sewn on canvas and then cut again in a special way before the pieces are stonewashed in a machine.  Ksenia Schnaider’s denim fur coats come in three lengths (mini, midi and maxi) and two colors (light and dark blue). They will hit stores in February/March as part of the brand’s cruise collection and prices will start from $600.

Ksenia Schnaider is currently sold via designer stores including Stylebob, Selfridges and Moda Operandi.
Find out more about the brand in our feature on page 112 of SPORTSWEAR INTERNATIONAL’s Denim Lovers’ Issue from October/November ’16.
