Following the footsteps of Topshop and the ASOS partnership with telecom behemoth Wayra UK (Telefonica), Germany’s big player Deutsche Telekom also got its hands on tech fashion solutions with Fashion Fusion. The initiative is a European competition where students, young professionals and startups from the fashion, design and technology fields are called upon to present visionary concepts merging technology and fashion to bring them to life.
Applications are open now until August 1. Participants may register choosing one of the three categories: connected devices & accessories, digitally enhanced fashion and smart services. A jury will then pick the ten best teams that will join the Fashion Fusion Lab, a three-month workshop to polish their concepts with the support of industry experts and manufacture prototypes. These will be presented in a grand finale at the #FashionTech conference during Berlin Fashion Week in January 2017.
Members of the competition jury are Anita Tillmann (Premium Exhibition), Dirk Schönberger (Adidas), Christin Eisenschmid (Intel in Germany) and Gesche Joost (Digital Champion), among others.
The winning team of the Fashion Fusion challenge will receive a cash prize of 20,000€ and the opportunity to bring its creation to market together with Deutsche Telekom and its partners –Intel, Adidas and Premium Exhibitions.
