Panorama Berlin’s latest edition, which ran July 4-6 at Berlin Expo Center City, disclosed fashion’s novelties for s/s 2018.
While the show had a quiet opening morning visitors eventually crowded the halls. They were mostly from Germany, Austria and Switzerland but a few others came from The Netherlands, Russia and Italy. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and lively thanks to the wide offer of collections and many events hosted inside the show such as fashion shows, get-togethers and live music events. Many companies offered customizing services during the three days by having T-shirts, bags and small leather items decorated upon request.
Nova Concept, Panorama Berlin’s platform hosting trendsetting fashion and lifestyle products, presented, among others, a high concentrate of established and internationally renowned jeans brands aimed at demanding consumers of all ages. Key denim names there included Colorado Denim, Fornarina, Guess, H.I.S., Lee, Mavi, Miss Sixty, and Pepe Jeans London, while in Please Jeans and Desigual showed in other areas.
Also confirming the growing trend of jeans insiders participating the show, was Isko, global denim manufacturer exhibiting at Nova Concept and organising “Isko Sustainability Panel” held on the second day of the show (also see our report).
The season’s hottest trends are a ’90s comeback (cropped jeans, open-end denim pieces, lots of boxy western style jackets, denim jackets and five-pockets with decorations, fringe and ruffles). Visible logos and customized pieces dominated as well. Bright colors, flesh tones, vegetal prints and gypsy-style pieces are the among the other must-haves.
Our favorite collections at the show were as follows:
1. Guess brings back its authentic ’90s spirit with a capsule collection offering ankle-cropped acid-wash jeans and T-shirts with huge logo prints. Total looks in white denim and sequins applications on denim look fresh too.

2. Miss Sixty debuted at Panorama by offering a glam fashion collection with T-shirts decorated with cool fancy graphics, sweats with ruching and a wide selection of jeans. Sequin-covered pink dresses and tops, velvet bombers and mini skirts enhance this collection. The capsule Angel Collection offers denim jackets with elaborate lace-meet-pop-art looks.

3. Historic German jeans brand H.I.S. is back as Henry I. Siegel. It offers complete denim total looks inspired by industrial design and workwear with added details borrowed from sport fashion such as thermosealings applied onto selvedges and sewings.

4. Mavi Jeans plays with small ruffles added on denim dresses and jackets, lace effects and fringe placed on the hems of five-pockets. Ethnic trimmings and punk-style metallic eyelets complete other jeans, while men’s jeans are decorated with written words, tattoo-like prints and small drawings. Rubberized zipper parts add extra character to some jeans.

5. Pepe Jeans London bets on eco-friendliness and launches jeans treated with Wiser Wash, a finishing that employs less than a cup of water per garment. Drip-painting effects and patch applications add a hype to denim pieces.

Other notable brands included Dwntown LA (military and leather jackets completed with huge fun slogans on the jackets’ back), Soniush (reinvented vintage military jackets and T-shirts with hand-painted and colorful trim), Studio Italy (feminine printed women’s shirts) Fredrick Martin (cool printed men’s shirts) and Shockly (colorful polos).
