Pitti Uomo is ready for kick-off. The show will take place in Florence, Fortezza da Basso, from 10 to 13 January 2017 and will disclose novelties for f/w 2017/2018.

This show’s edition main theme is Pitti Dance Off as dance, as fashion, is a means through which anyone can express one’s own personality, taste, mood and lifestyle. Pitti has interpreted this theme ironicly through installations in the Fortezza by Oliviero Baldini and initiatives.

More sportswear on show

The show will host a higher number of international sportswear and jeanswear brands than in the past. Such aspect underlines how important these segments have become for any man’s wardrobe and for always more daily and evening occasions. In addition to long time participating sportswear brands, the show will also host some debuts, various new entries as well as returns. Among debuting brands are Mackage, high-quality Canadian leather apparel brand, Delicatezzen, Italian pop-inspired accessory brand, Ghurka, US military and outdoor inspired bag line, and Quinto Ego, Italian silver jewel brand.

Among newcomers and returning exhibitors are Cheap Monday, Wrangler, Napapijri, Tommy Hilfiger, Pringle of Scotland and Replay.

Not to be missed appointments

The increased importance of leisurewear apparel is stated by the show’s special guests and events as previously announced, but also by many other conferences, cocktails and parties scheduled to happen inside the Fortezza and in the city.

On 10 January, at 12 am, Roy Rogers will disclose its capsule collection collaboration with atelier Liverano& Liverano Sartoria. Woolrich will launch its first footwear collection for fall 2017 on 10 January at 3pm at the Woolrich Area, pavillion Ghiaia, Stand 2. At 5pm Gas will present its new footwear line preview. In the evening other celebrations and events will take place in the city and will involve Clarks Originals, Levi’s Made & Crafted collaborating with Societé Anonyme, Tommy Hilfiger, New Balance launching a new multipurpose sneaker, PT01 Pantaloni Torino and Liu Jo’s menswear, just to name a few events.

On 11 January, inside the Fortezza, from 11am Mizuno will disclose its new Mizuno 1906 lifestyle collection and Patrizia Pepe will present its Active Tailoring performance tied to their new men’s collection. At 12 at the Dogana location, the Concept Korea project will disclose two excellent Korean brands – Bmuet(te) by Byungmun Seo and Ordinary People. Later in the city more events will happen. Among them there is a party organized by Napapijri celebrating their 30th anniversary, and a fashion show by the Italian Don The Fuller jeans brand.

The show will disclose a total of 1,220 brands, 540 from foreign countries (44% of the total) and 210 new entries (including returning exhibitors and debuting ones).

The show will occupy a total of 60,000 sq. meters subdivided in 16 sections: Pitti Uomo, Make, Pop Up Stores, Eye Pop, Fashion At Work, Futuro Maschile, Touch!, l’Altro Uomo, Born in the USA, Unconventional, Open, The Latest Fashion Buzz, I Play, Urban Panorama and My Factory. Just debuting is Hi Beauty, a section focused on personal care and fragrances.

Pitti Uomo expects to welcome a total of about 36,000 visitors. During the past Winter edition it was visited by over 24,800 buyers of whose 8,800 (35.5% of the total) came from foreign countries, mostly from Germany, Japan, Spain, UK, Turkey, The Netherlands, France, China, Switzerland, Belgium, USA, South Korea, Austria, Russia and Sweden.

More events

Pitti Immagine and Editoriale News3.0 Group have organized “Millennial taste. Traveling inquiries into the new tribes of fashion” as the second edition of a new convention that is based on a new format of press, video, web and social communication. For this edition, it will focus on Millennials in their dual role of influencers and consumers.

The Luisa Via Roma store will present a series of events including the 14th Edition of Firenze4Ever, to be held on 9 January. Within a gala dinner and a party, fashion and art forces will unite with numerous collaborations, in support of a special charity project.

On 12 January 2017 the boutique will also host the LVR Fashion and Technology Summit at the Teatro della Compagnia. For the day various round table discussions, presentations and networking activities will involve decision makers and innovators from leading companies discussing about the future of branding and performance in fashion and technology.
