“After the recent Government Decree decided to block all public events until December 3, it seems hard that Pitti takes place next January.” This is what Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, told the Italian newspaper MF Fashion. The final decision about the show’s timing might be taken in December.
Although Massimiliano Bizzi, the founder of White Show, recently suggested the possibility of holding a series of events in March, Napoleone is not supporting this solution as he sees the month of March too late for menswear’s timing. He is instead considering the possibility to work in collaboration with an initiative in joint collaboration with the Italian Fashion Chamber involving international buyers and press.

“We never slowed our rhythms down,” said Napoleone. “We are determined in holding one significant event inside the Fortezza Da Basso offering an appointment rich with novelties and a series of special events and presentations: the possibility to shift Pitti Uomo to February seems plausible. But the final decision will be taken in December by our board of directors. In the meantime, considering the good results we registered after the summer edition, we have been working hard in order to strengthen Pitti Connect and keep it working 365 days a year.”
Pitti Uomo confirmed Napoleone’s statement, though preferred not to release any additional comment.
