So far a stand-alone event, Paris fashion trade show Man/Woman will join Première Classe, Who’s Next, and Impact at the Jardin des Tuileries location for the upcoming edition 2-4 October.
Given the difficult circumstances due to the outbreak of Covid-19 it seems a smart move that the Paris trade show organizers WSN and Man/Woman gather at one spot and join their forces to host contemporary fashion designers and brands. With one badge for all events, which is free for buyers, access to the collections is granted.
"Many conversations have taken place to discuss the digitalization of Fashion Week and how trade shows would operate under the circumstances. The outcome of this has been the strengthening of relationships between various event organizers over the last few months, so much so that joining forces had already been considered if the circumstances were to require it. Now, it is essential to be flexible to best support our brands; encourage new meetings and provide motivation that can be built on in 2021,” says Frederic Maus, CEO of WSN.
"The future for independent industry players, brands, and retailers, is the issue of focus at the end of this year. It is our responsibility to ensure physical meetings take place to showcase the new collections of all those who have worked at our side for more than 8 years,” states Antoine Floch, co-founder, Man/Woman.
Man/Woman, Première Classe, Who’s Next, and Impact will run during Paris Fashion Week scheduled 28 September to 6 October. With rising infection numbers in France it is currently hard to say if all events will happen live–or will be switched to digital events as happened with the menswear shows in June.
Also Who’s Next and Impact had been affected already: both shows were originally scheduled 4-7 September, but due to uncertainties in planning have then been moved to the October date.
This has not been the only news in recent times regarding the bundling of Paris trade fairs: In August news broke that Paris fashion show Tranoï had been taken over by GL Events Group, organizer behind Première Vision among others. The date for the next edition of Tranoï, which should have taken place from 2-5 October at the Palais de la Bourse, is currently not confirmed.
