What are the trends for the s/s'20 season for menswear? Which colours are trendy? Which shoe model will dominate? What about jewellery? We spotted a lot of trends around Paris Fashionweek and have put together our favorites for you.

Trend colours brown and green:

As already seen at the trade fairs and shows in Florence, Milan and London, two trend colours will dominate the coming summer season. As trend guru Li Edelkoort announced a long time ago, brown will dominate. Men's fashion is converting the trend into warm earth tones, ranging from beige, ochre and terracotta to dark brown, which can be found in almost all collections (see examples by Meanwhile, Sandro and Nanushka).  Also inspired by nature, brown is joined by a green. In Paris you can see many models in an almost pastel mint green in the collections. See Sulvam, Hugo Costa or House of Leo, un upcoming brand from Moscow.

Outdoor/Workwear

The boundaries of inspiration are fluid: elements of outdoor sportswear blend with workwear to create a new silhouette that is as functional as it is elegant. Typical workwear classics, such as an angular work jacket, a trench or an overall, form a symbiosis with outdoor jackets and cargo trousers and their details such as sewn-on pockets and elastic bands. A revised camouflage version is often used as print and , mixes military details into it.

Upcycling:

The trend to consume differently and in a more environmentally conscious way has been reflected above all in young brands, often founded by millenials. Many, such as the Swedish label Dedicated (Man/Woman), use certified organic or recycled materials. Some even go further and "up-cycle" existing materials. The environmentally conscious designer label Phipps from the American designer Spencer Phipps has not only cooperated with the French outdoor manufacturer Millet on shoes, but has also processed residual fabrics from the archive into new fleece pullovers, windbreakers, trekking trousers and backpacks. The Ukrainian designer duo around Ksenia and Anton Schneider have also up-cycled: they use old sweaters, jeans and windbreakers to create new patchwork shirts, sweaters and jackets.

High-top sneakers:

With the sneakers there's actually not much new to report. Nevertheless, it is noticeable that the high models, which reach up to the ankle, are again more popular. Virgil Abloh for Louis Vuitton has produced several models in colourful, pure white or grey. French rubber specialist Both combines them with neon details, and Boris Bidjan Saberi has designed a capsule  collection together with the sports brand Salomon, in which he has even integrated ski boot techniques into the high-top sneakers.

Earrings for men:

For years, jewellery for men was very simple, discreet and above all in silver and metal. But now the designers have discovered a new market potential here. There are many glittering necklaces, but above all earrings. Many streetstyle stars have already adapted the new accessory trend. Companies are also following: The men's collection from Rochas, which has only been in existence for two seasons, has shown several models of them. The Hungarian brand Nanushka, which is new in men's fashion and has been flying high with the women's line for about a year, also shows eye-catching earrings.
