The leading international trade fair for the leather goods industry, ILM (Internationale Lederwaren Messe), is just around the corner. The trade show takes place in Offenbach February 29 to March 2, 2020 and will host around 300 international exhibitors, which will be presenting their collections in the leather goods, luggage, school items, umbrellas and fashion accessories segments for autumn/winter 2020-21. Once again the trade show is fully booked. Exhibiting brands include Aevor, Eastpak, Guess, La Martina, Lois, Samsonite, Victorinox and Zwei, among many others.

"ILM is the most important date in the calendar of the bags, accessories and luggage segments. But we offer much more than just good products. We also focus on communication and meetings," says Arnd Hinrich Kappe, managing director of Messe Offenbach.

The Concept Square area, which premiered in September 2019, and is especially dedicated to young brands and start-ups, will also be part of this winter edition. The ILM Runway Shows, choreographed by Bettina von Bassewitz, focus on the topics "Bag World" and "Travel World.”

Lectures, speeches and talks during ILM will take place in the Event Center. The topics range from "Possibilities of Online Distribution for Bag Retailers Using the Example of Taschen24" and "Don't Be Afraid of Amazon–for Retailers Who Know Their Customers" to ”The Future of Materials: Potential Pathways Towards Sustainable Material World.”

In an official statement, ILM organizers also referred to the current situation of the coronavirus: "With regard to the current situation of coronavirus (2019-nCoV), we would like to inform you that the ILM will take place from 29.02. - 02.03.2020 as planned. According to the authorities, there is no danger for events at the Offenbach Exhibition Centre. According to the WHO, the Robert Koch Institute and the German authorities, the risk of infection with the novel pathogen in Germany is currently very low. As a precautionary measure, the cleaning measures for heavily frequented areas such as entrances, door handles, etc. will also be increased compared to the already high standard. Furthermore, additional disinfectant dispensers have been positioned on the premises."
