On February 16 the next event is on. That is when EuroShop, the world's largest trade fair for the investment needs of the retail trade, starts in Düsseldorf. From February 16 to 20, around 2,300 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and an expected 114,000 trade visitors from all over the world will gather at Messe Düsseldorf.

EuroShop is divided into eight experience dimensions (Shop Fitting & Store Design, Retail Technology, Retail Marketing, Lighting, Visual Merchandising, Food Service Equipment, Refrigeration & Energy Management, Expo & Event) and aims to provide visitors with answers to specific questions such as: How should a store look like today?  Which technological innovations are available? What innovations does retail marketing offer? How do I stage my store? What does visual merchandising currently offer?

EuroShop sees itself not only as an information platform, trend hotspot and network for retail professionals, but also deals with urgent and future-relevant topics such as digitalization, robotics, sustainability and climate neutrality.

The supporting program of EuroShop 2020 is comprehensive. The trade fair offers a total of eight lecture and discussion forums with a total of 600 speakers and over 500 specialist presentations on the latest developments, innovative trends and best practice examples for all EuroShop visitors over the five days of the fair.

The Specials at EuroShop include various special areas that offer scope for specialists, start-ups, for the "Generations X, Y & Z," for ideas, visions and innovative products.

The POPAI Village will be presented in a completely new branding in Hall 1. Exhibitors from many countries will present all areas of POP marketing. Daily presentations on all aspects of point of sale marketing will take place in the Forum.

In Hall 3, EuroShop offers start-ups and newcomers who are specifically dedicated to the development of state-of-the-art IT systems and solutions in the retail sector their own presentation area.

The IFES Global Village in Hall 4 is a meeting place for the IFES family (International Federation of Expo & Event Services) and a hotspot for networking events with new business partners from all over the world. In addition, a breakfast for students and young professionals will be held in the IFES Global Village on February 17.

The Retail Design course of study of the Design Faculty of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences will occupy an area of 665 sq. meters at EuroShop in Hall 5. "Premium City" represents a visionary city in the year 2050, in which retail, public space and mobility merge. A total of ten individual projects will be on display as part of the presentation. In addition, the exhibition stand offers a forum for lectures and special events.

The third edition of the Italian Lighting Lounge will take place as part of the 20th EuroShop. Italian companies from the fields of interior and exterior lighting and industrial design will present the latest trends and innovative systems on the international market (Hall 9).

In Hall 12, the EuroShop Designer Village awaits visitors, which deals with the topics of interior design and future-oriented retail design concepts. Students from the Architecture and Design Department of the Peter Behrens School of Arts (PBSA) Düsseldorf are responsible for designing the Designer Village.

Hall 15 is home to the ECOpark, a special area for intelligent solutions for energy issues in the retail trade. Exhibitors will focus on smart, cross-branch concepts that take account of developments towards an increasingly networked energy system that is becoming more and more complex, including renewable energies. Modern air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions are also in the spotlight.



The Innovations Hub in Hall 4 brings innovative visions of the future from the fields of human-technology interaction, virtual and augmented reality and customer experience to life. As soon as one enters the area, one becomes part of an interdisciplinary network based on a cooperation between the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, Tennagels Medientechnik and Lavalabs Moving Images. The think tank is intended to provide creative inspiration and multi-sensory impressions. Visitors can participate in the workshops offered.
