As has just been announced Premium Group is cancelling all its summer events, including trade shows Premium and Seek as well as Fashiontech conference.
Already in early April, organizers stated that the originally planned date for the Premium Group events 30 June-02 July would be very likely postponed to 28-30 July with reservations due to the corona crisis. But since the federal and state governments have issued an order to cancel major events with more than 1,000 visitors by 31 August 2020 also the end of July date is not reasonable any more.
Now Premium Group focuses even further on digitization, as managing partner Anita Tillmann points out in an official statement: "We are in close contact with all our brands and partners and in the last four weeks we have discussed possible approaches, concepts and new focal points for the summer. The bottom line is that digitalisation is clearly in the foreground. [...] We will soon be offering webinars to this end and can present our customers with an optimal digital solution for ordering to make efficient use of the pandemic period."
Still, Tillmann emphasizes that physical events cannot be replaced in all respects: "Our trade fair formats have long since ceased to stand for mere ordering; they are all about exchange, emotion, inspiration, communication and ultimately the meeting of the fashion community. As much as is digitally feasible today – it is no substitute for physical meetings. We are noticing this more than ever in these times. For the year 2021 we will work on new concepts, coordinate with the protagonists in Berlin and with everyone else to get back on track. We accept the challenge and will approach the industry with news."
