After the Chinese edition of sports trade show Ispo (scheduled from 12 to 15 February 2020 at NCIEC Beijing) has been cancelled due to the novel coronavirus last week, further trade show organizers follow: As was announced today Messe Frankfurt postpones its Shanghai textile fairs Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Yarn Expo Spring and Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles which were due to be held 11-13 March at the National Exhibition and Convention Center.
“[...] We stand fully behind the government’s efforts to control the outbreak,” Ms. Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd outlined. “[...] With the wellbeing of all our stakeholders in mind, we have made the decision to reschedule our upcoming textile fairs in Shanghai to a later date.”
Equally, the organizers of Chic-China International Fashion Fair today informed that the trade show, also originally scheduled 11-13 March at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, will be postponed, “in order to effectively protect the health of exhibitors, trade visitors, staff and the public and to ensure an efficient trade fair for all participants,” as it says in a press release by Chic.
Last but not least, the team behind fabrics show Milano Unica, which had planned its upcoming edition in Shanghai 11-13 March, also confirmed to postpone the trade show.
New dates for any of the shows have not been announced yet, but “will be made in due course”, as the organizers say.
