Due to the Corona situation, the sporting-goods trade fair Ispo Munich will take place January 31 to February 3, 2021 for the first time as a hybrid event, both physically at the Munich trade fair grounds and digitally.
Due to existing travel restrictions, the trade fair organizers see the digital platform of Ispo Munich as an ideal basis for the integration of global target groups.
"Sport and outdoor activities–particularly strongly linked to the topic of health in these times–are more relevant to society than ever before. As a result, there is also a growing need for personal exchange in the industry. The desire to present and discuss new potential, partnerships and business models is greater than ever. This is reflected by the industry and this is also the reason why we have developed our concept," explains Klaus Dittrich, chairman of the board of management of Messe München, the show’s parent company/producer.
Security on site
Together with the Bavarian State Government, Messe München has drawn up a comprehensive protection and hygiene concept for onsite events in January/February 2021. Exhibitors are given more flexibility by the postponement of deadlines and flexible cancellation conditions. If desired, pre-built stands can be used to participate in the event in a cost-effective and efficient manner. While the trade fair organizers expect representatives from European markets in particular, they hope that the digital offering will attract more international visitors.
Involving end consumers for the first time
In addition to the trade audience, end consumers will also be given the opportunity for the first time to participate digitally and to engage in direct dialog with the industry. With presentations, workshops and master classes, brands and companies have the opportunity to present themselves digitally to sports and outdoor enthusiasts around the world and to engage in conversations with them.
