The consequences of the coronavirus are also becoming more and more widespread in Germany. Every day there are new reports, events are cancelled or postponed-and the fashion industry is heavily affected. Today it was announced that Hamburg and Berlin want to ban major events with 1.000 participants or more. Thus, the trade show organizers of Premium Group have given careful thought to the topic of the coronavirus.
In a letter to business partners and exhibitors, Premium Exhibitions managing directors, Anita Tillmann and Jörg Arntz, have commented on their plans for the upcoming Seek & Premium trade shows that take place from 30th June - 2nd July 2020 in Berlin.
“In light of events […] we are working with the industry to present two powerful, safe and inspiring trade shows. We are fully intending to put on both of our trade shows, and we have the full support of our shareholders and stakeholders in London and New York. Preparations for the events are therefore continuing unaltered and at speed accordingly. There are still 16 weeks to go before the start of Seek and Premium and we hope that the situation will have calmed by then and that nothing will stand in the way of such a crucial opportunity – especially pivotal in challenging times – for the industry to come together to interact, devise solutions and forge strong alliances”, the statement says.
But Premium also prepares itself for possible worst-case scenarios. In the event that the trade shows cannot take place at the end of June/beginning of July due to the worsening situation, a possible alternative date will be evaluated in coordination with the exhibitors. In the worst case, if both events have to be cancelled, exhibitors would be credited or refunded the booth rental costs incurred for the January 2021 edition.
