Première Vision New York will take place on 17 and 18 January, 2017 in New York, at Pier 94. For its 34th edition the show will present a selected offer of novelties for s/s 2018 on fabrics, designs, accessories, leather and quality manufacturing solutions from its 287 exhibitors.

For the first time the show will advise visitors with three distinct itineraries focused on the specialized industry segments activewear, menswear and bridal.

In addition to hosting a trend area, the show will also present its Trend Tasting seminars conducted by Première Vision’s own Sabine Le Chatelier, deputy fashion director. For this season, Le Chatelier will focus her analysis on consumers’ desire to escape from the present times, seeking playfulness in their fashion choices. “This season we won’t be looking for the perfect,” commented Le Chatelier. “We’ll celebrate imperfection and the presence of the human hand. Patterns will be simple, and easy to decipher, while fibers will be hybrid demonstrating sophistication and transformation.”

On Tuesday 17 January, the show will also hold “Smart Materials”, a roundtable discussion that is part of PV’s Smart Creation program and will examine the industry’s opportunities for sustainability and growth. The panel will host, among others, Kate Black, founder, EcoSessions and Magnifeco; Sara Kozlowski, director of education and professional development, CFDA; Claudia Richardson, materials innovation manager, Patagonia. It will be moderated by Giusy Bettoni, a consultant specialized in sustainable innovation for Premiere Vision and founding president of C.L.A.S.S. (Creativity Lifestyle and Sustainable Sinergy).

This year’s PVNY designer ambassador is womenswear designer Nellie Partow, continuing PV’s strategy of promoting local creativity in those cities where it hosts shows and connects fashion designers to local manufacturing.

To select its ambassadors, Première Vision partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America, whose mission is to strengthen the impact of American Fashion in the global economy. “We were pleased by this cooperation, which led us to choose Nellie Partow, a particularly committed designer with a strong fabric sensibility oriented towards innovation and high quality. Values that are part of the PV DNA,” added Guglielmo Olearo, Première Vision international exhibitions director.

Nellie Partow earned a business degree from San Francisco State University and a degree in fashion design from Parsons School of Design. Among her past experiences she worked for Donna Karan, Calvin Klein and John Varvatos. With nearly 10 years of design experience under her belt, Partow decided to develop her own label and fill a niche in the market. She launched her namesake luxury collection in Fall 2011.
