The second day of GDS, where a total of 550 brands showcased their collections, kicked off better than most exhibitors expected. The brands had business as usual and not even time to say goodbye to the expiring show concept.
Most important retailers were seen but the number of visitors was dissatisfying. The atmosphere in the Pop Up hall was relaxed and optimistic. Shoe brand Melvin & Hamilton in hall 5 surprised with the most crowded booth of the fair, offering elegant styles in different shades and colors. CEO Karim Louis Choukair was excited: “We are in a very good mood. We love fairs and we have to transfer our emotions to the guests.”
But also Replay, A.S 98 and Vagabond were happy. Claus Tygesen, Vagabond, said: “We had a good response to our new collection. Retailers are looking for fashion and fancy styles.” In general retailers were open for new styles and extraordinary looks. The cold winter weather increased the demand for winter boots, fur and warm materials. GDS will be closing its doors today, 9th February, 2017.
