The premiere of the trade show LINKINGplus took place on 6 and 7 November 2016 in Xiamen, at the International Conference and Exhibitions Center. Since the provinces surrounding Xiamen produce 75 % of the Chinese garment industry’s output the administration of the province of Xiamen facilitated the fair.

With their new event the Chinese textile and clothing associations including China National Garment Association (CNGA), The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CPIT (CCPIT Tex), China Fashion Association (CFA) and China Textile Information Center (CTIC) reach out to potential global partners.

In the B2B area, with about 100 exhibitors from 13 countries such as DuPont, Lenzing and  Dows, the fair was seeking an acceleration and improvement of these partnerships between Chinese and international companies. One major focal point of the first LINKINGplus was new technologies from the process of production to sales and marketing. French company Cegid e.g. presented its mobile software for personalized shopping, while businesses like Dutch label R2 Amsterdam and Joeone from China secured their new cooperation on exclusive menswear.

CNGA vice-president Chen Dapeng mentioned: ‘The changes of the Chinese buying public have gradually led to a more nuanced, diverse and personalised consumption. The internet and e-commerce have changed the way of buying. For that reason the whole Chinese market follows its changes and new collaborations with international partners.’

The 5000 trade visitors came from Chinese brands, manufacturers and brand agents like Septwolves, Seven, Diking and sportswear brands like Xtep, Anta and 361. Especially the show’s quality as a service station for future partnerships was valued.

The next LINKINGplus trade show will take place in 2017.
