Sorona, a nature-friendly fiber by chemical specialist DuPont Biomaterials, has recently announced its first collaboration with the Brazilian athletic lifestyle brand Live! launching its first sustainable collection.
The new capsule, called Live!Bio, is available at retail in the US and Brazil and features three tops, in black or white, that guarantee comfortable stretch, dimensional stability and a soft hand feel.
Each garment in the collection is completed by a thermo-adhesive label on the piece featuring a QR Code that leads to detailed information on fabric certifications, as a means to readily raise awareness on sustainable manufacturing techniques.
Sorona is a partially bio-based polymer derived from eco-efficient processes requiring lower energy consumption. Created from the sugar in corn and fermented in a process similar to the production of alcohol, the Sorona polymer substitutes a formerly chemical process with a bio-based one. The result is a sustainably sourced very versatile polymer.
Sorona fibers also provide high breathability, reduced pilling and sagging, and dimensional stability that helps maintain shape after multiple wears, ultimately enhancing each product’s lifecycle. The brand has also developed tailored packaging for the capsule made of Sorona fabric to lessen its carbon footprint.
