"Talents Lineapiù is our way to contribute to the development of their creativity, to comfort their commitment and research," explained Alessandro Bastagli, president, Lineapiù Italia.

The competition-which selects and rewards one talent per season-is intended for those already working in the fashion industry. The winners are sponsored by Lineapiù for two years, that is, for four seasons, through yarns that they can use for their sample collections.

The winner of this edition was Sonia Martinez and her brand Sonia Carrasco. Honorable mention went to the brand Chet Lo.

Out of Sonia Carrasco's f/w 2022/23 collection, "024," emphasizes - like past collections - the interiors of garments and usually invisible parts. Linings become scarves, and the inside becomes the outside, in a balance between structure and fluidity. Exaggerated craftsmanship appears in the collection with handmade macramé, crochet and knitwear.

Ultra-long sleeves, low waist, gender-fluid tailoring and oversize are expressed by materials such as vegan suede, post-consumer recycled cotton, recycled wool and organic wool.

Winning the Talents Lineapiù honorable mention for his creative proposal was Chet Lo, a designer originally from New York who lives and works in London. He graduated in 2020 from the knitwear course at Central Saint Martin - University of the Arts London, and became passionate about fabrics and the endless possibilities and innovations that knitwear could offer.  His ready-to-wear focuses on futuristic atmospheres, albeit enhanced by nostalgic notes, accentuated by his fascination with old Japanese comics. His s/s 2023 ready-to-wear collection is inspired by a Buddhist tale from his youth, in which numerous arrows are shot in the direction of the Buddha and then turn into flowers: a series of fitted knit garments with curvilinear cuts represent the marks left by the arrows. In the clothes are the 'pointy' elements characteristic of his creations and flashy accessories.
