The British fashion designer Stella McCartney continues to push ahead her commitment toward preserving nature and avoids using leather, feathers, fur or skins while offering 84% of her ready-to-wear collection crafted from conscious materials.

For s/s 2023, she added more innovative ideas by including, for instance, an Econyl regenerated nylon parka that can be taken back and recycled at the end of its life, making it fully circular.

Among other materials she chose there are forest-friendly viscose, organic cotton, regenerated nylon, recycled polyester, linen, Refibra cotton and Humana denim pieces made from textile waste, along with regenerated cashmere, Sorona recyclable and partly plant-based quilting. Not less interesting and environmentally conscious are some items made with regenerative and RWS wool from traceable sources.

For this specific collection the designer was inspired by naturalist Miriam Rothschild and Knepp Farm in Horsham, who gave their land back to Mother Earth, allowing it to rebalance itself and restore wildlife. She has also worked with ecologist and reintroduction expert Derek Gow to rewild her own farm, with native flora and fauna inspiring the collection.

Have a look at her collection and see the results she achieved.
