Milan and Paris catwalks have highlighted a trend that is not simply evoking a return to nature, beauty and kindness, but a much bolder and stronger desire for matericness, colorfulness, and elaborate craftsmanship.
They have nothing to do with romance and sugary feelings, but simply express a sincere and factual love for realistic beauty and serious savoir-faire.
Applied flowers - be them realistic or funkily stylized, embroidered or printed, applied as a fancy decoupage, lace-like or worn as jewels - will be everywhere for f/w 2023/2024, not matter if applied on fur, tweed, organza, ciré or on the reverse ofd a jacquard fabric. “Flowers, please” is the new mantra of the season.
