Dries van Noten, the Belgian designer, one of most quoted fashion personalities at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, and among the first ones to recall the importance to focus on “less, but better”, has recently launched his f/w 2022/2023 menswear collection underlining it is a “A tribute to the life we lost”.
“It is all about having fun again, touching, kissing people, exploring the forbidden and living carefree,” commented the designer while describing his new collection.

For this season, van Noten likes to play with the idea of gender fluidity, blurring genders and looks interpreted through high-quality materials, top-notch manufacturing and savoir-faire expertise. His blazers are inspired by traditional Neapolitan tailor-made menswear, though hyped with small details like puffy sleeves. “We wanted to create new effects by simply changing some small details,” he explained.

Other extravaganzas include skirts for men that look like wide trousers, a recall of ’80s sportswear, a contrasting mix of silhouettes, but also the use of sustainable materials like, for instance, a special eco-friendly fake fur, made of mohair by wool specialist Steif & Steif.
