For the second time, the industry's top event, the TW Forum, took place at Frankfurt's Palmengarten. On Monday evening, on July 4th, three awards were presented to outstanding brands, retailers and personalities in the industry in a festive setting.

Markus Gotta, managing director of dfv Mediengruppe, the holding company that publishes Textil Wirtschaft, and TW editor-in-chief Michael Werner opened the awards ceremony and guided the evening.

And the winners are...Buy Your Way to Happiness

One of the 2022 award went to Andrea Dahmen and Christoph Munier, owners and founders of Kauf Dich Glücklich.

Two decades ago, Andrea Dahmen and Christoph Munier founded the retail concept Kauf Dich Glücklich. In the meantime, what was then a small, emphatically individual concept store has advanced to become a fashion retail format that is appreciated beyond Germany and is supported by a strong identity.

"Mood, assortments, shopping - the founders have understood how to set their own tone and have thus established themselves as a magnet for a young, progressive, mostly urban target group," is how the TW Forum award jury explained its choice in the retail category. "The perfection of the imperfect has become a cipher for careful but steady growth in an ever-expanding niche."

Live Fast Die Young
Streetwear brand Live Fast Die Young (LFDY) "gives an excellent example of disruptive distribution, linked with smart marketing, a keen sense of the culture and sense of time of the addressed target group," were some of the reasons that were crucial for the TW Forum award jury to give the brand the award in the Innovation category.

"Proximity to the audience, control in brand management, quick response - this and much more is the result of a D2C strategy that was consistently thought out from the start: directly to the smartphone, bypassing classic channels of distribution. Rapid jumps in sales confirm the correctness of the idea and its actors and inventors, who have been acting with a lot of passion and vision since the start in 2013.

Totême
This year, the TW Forum Award in the Brand & Design category goes to the contemporary brand Totême from Sweden. According to the jury, the label combines many aspetcs that stand for modernity - for today and in the future. "Clearly profiled design, outstanding craftsmanship and an aesthetic that does not allow itself to be distracted by short-term trends," were the reasons behind the choice of this winner.

The brand was launched in 2014. Since then, Totême has established itself among relevant retailers, its sales curve has been growing rapidly, and Totême's headquarters in Stockholm have constantly attracted creative minds from all over the world.
