LuisaViaRoma, one of the world's leading fashion e-tailers, and Vestiaire Collective, a leading international second-hand fashion resale app, have joined forces to promote faster, easier and more conscious ways of shopping.

Thanks to the new agreement, customers will be able to take advantage of a new resale service through a dedicated and intuitive web interface. After uploading the required information, customers will receive a quote for their pre-loved product within 48 hours; once the product arrives at one of Vestiaire Collective's hubs and passes quality and authentication checks, they will receive payment in the form of a gift card from LuisaViaRoma within four business days. For those who use the service, the dedicated LuisaViaRoma X Vestiaire Collective team will provide ongoing support throughout the experience. Products sold by LuisaViaRoma customers will be available for purchase worldwide on Vestiaire Collective through a dedicated account page.

Initially, the platform will be available in Italy and will allow customers to resell handbags, shoes, accessories, and ready-to-wear from 46 luxury women's clothing brands (including Balenciaga, Dior, Gucci, and Prada). Both LuisaViaRoma and Vestiaire Collective aim to implement this resale service in other European countries and expand the selection of luxury brands included in the project by the end of 2022.

This collaboration is a key part of LuisaViaRoma's strategy to offer innovative and more conscious shopping experiences and advances Vestiaire Collective's mission to transform the fashion industry for a more sustainable future. Both companies, through this synergy, intend to reach a wider audience and make informed choices an integral part of their customers' journey.

“Supporting positive, innovative and circular initiatives is another essential step forward in LuisaViaRoma's journey towards sustainability. We are proud to partner with Vestiaire Collective and see the shopping experience through different eyes. By giving customers the opportunity to experience circular fashion firsthand, LuisaViaRoma hopes to raise awareness of the importance of buying and reselling pre-loved luxury garments and accessories and the need to make conscious choices,” commented Alessandra Rossi, CEO, LuisaViaRoma.

“We are thrilled to partner with LuisaViaRoma to make our service available and share an interest in circularity, a key element in moving toward a more sustainable fashion system and strengthening the impact of resale. We will continue to collaborate and fight side by side with brands and retailers, encouraging their customers to move towards circular fashion by giving a second life to garments and accessories they will never wear again,” added Max Bittner, CEO, Vestiaire Collective.

The new agreement is part of a LuisaViaRoma more comprehensive strategy focused on encouraging more responsible shopping behaviors as the e-tailer had already launched LVRsustainable, its own sustainable shopping section offering an accurate selection of sustainable brands and collaborations in 2019.

Along with it, it has recently announced a shift for both LuisaViaRoma and LVRSustainable products to the use of FSC-certified packaging, guaranteeing that 95% of its packaging is recyclable. FSC is a most credible and rigorous forest certification scheme currently available to ensure environmental responsibility, social benefits and economically viable management of forests. Thanks to the FSC certification, it is possible to monitor the entire supply chain, from the forest resource of origin to the finished product that goes to the consumer.
