Sebstian Klinder, managing director, Munich Fabric Start, is proud about the show's return to prepandemic levels. He disclosed The SPIN OFF, some highlights for the next edition taking place from August 30th to September 1st in Munich.

We are very proud to say we will host a total of almost 900 exhibitors in continuity with our pre-pandemic success story.
We are going to start with full strength and with the full range: Munich Fabric Start will host fabrics and design studios, Resource – the sourcing platform for sustainable alternatives, and the Keyhouse with the most exciting innovations, new developments and technologies as well as Bluezone that will prove again its position as one of the global key events for the denim industry. And we are adding The Source, a new trade fair format on top.
Can you tell us more about this new section?
We launched The Source, the new one-stop solution for holistic fashion sourcing by Munich Fabric Start Exhibitions GmbH, in May 2022, and now we proudly announce it: with 65 selected international manufacturing companies with offerings from cut-make-trim (CMT) to high-end production, The Source is fully booked.

End-to-end solutions from PLV to white labels for brands, labels and retail are a strongly growing segment, which needs to be valued. This exactly is what we do with The Source.
We created a new trade show in an architecturally outstanding location, with an extremely high-quality exhibition stand system and a selective choice of international exhibitors.
How often will it take place?
The Source will take place bi-annual, parallel to the trade shows Munich Fabric Start and Bluezone.

Yes, of course. And there will always be exhibitors of this segment showcasing at Munich Fabric Start and Bluezone. End-to-end solutions are an extremely market-relevant segment, to which we are now dedicating a separate trade show. The Source in the listed Lokhalle, which with its gigantic dimensions is one of Europe’s largest self-supporting steel structure halls, is giving it the importance it deserves.
Will the upcoming editions of MFS and Bluezone carry ahead any specific project referring to sustainability?
Yes, there are. Yet announced is the collaboration with the Transformers Foundation. Further developments and the event program will be announced shortly.

We are very proud and happy to welcome the Transformers Foundation and to host two exciting days with two panels each.

We all know that the fashion industry - fashion as well as denim and sportswear, in Germany as well as in the other European markets - is currently facing major challenges. And the event industry has also been through very difficult times. That's why, as a trade show organizer, it's anything but a matter of course and definitely a gamble to move forward and even to expand. We did just that, and it was the right thing to do. We are showcasing all our formats, we are not putting anything on hold, on the contrary: we are progressing and growing. It's up to all of us - our exhibitors, our visitors and us as organizers - to fuel the market and build on old successes with new business models. We delivered, now we ask our partners to do the same. Because in the end it’s them, who develop innovations, who present new technologies and who inspire and create progress.
