E-P Summit, the Pitti Immagine event dedicated to the relationship between fashion and the digital world, after the forced suspension due to the pandemic, aims to become a leading European event helping the dialogue between supply and demand of innovations in the digital field.

The next edition of the event will feature some important novelties. The initiative will take place on 4 and 5 May 2022 for the first time in Florence, at the Stazione Leopolda, after its past editions had always been held in Milan, and will have as its subtitle "Shaping the digital future of Fashion".

The direction of the project has been entrusted to a new scientific director, Rinaldo Rinaldi, professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Florence, who has been working for many years on the relationship between the major fashion and luxury brands and ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) for the digital transition of the entire supply chain. Together with him, a committee composed of university professors, experts and high-level executives of fashion and luxury companies will select the themes and contents of the next editions of the event.

"The format of the new e-P Summit represents a sort of trait-d'union between typical elements of conventions and areas of trade show organization. Fashion companies can present their experiences in front of the suppliers of digital innovation solutions and tools, and then these last ones have the opportunity to present their services and products in the exhibition section and in the networking stages," explained Rinaldi. "It is clear that Pitti Immagine's credit in the international fashion world and its transversal approach, which combines culture and economy, are even more decisive elements for the success of the summit."

The themes the two days at Stazione Leopolda will focus on will include, among others: the digital development of the creative and production processes underlying the new collections, with particular attention to artisan manufacturing; the new supply chains; the digital transition in support of ecology and the circular economy; integration between traditional distribution and e-commerce channels; strategies for social media; consumer customer engagement and analysis models; the Internet of Things; Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; use and protection of Big Data and the Cloud; the Blockchain; the Metaverse and the creation, exchange and fruition of NFTs, among other topics.

"The profound technological and global economic changes that have been underway for some time and the acceleration that has been imprinted on them in the last two years by the pandemic crisis have led to the emergence of business models in which the digital component is increasingly crucial," added Claudio Marenzi, president, Pitti Immagine. "This is what prompted us to give new strength to e-P Summit. We will put our experience, including communication and promotion, and the skills of the scientific direction at the service of the business system, confident that the end result will be greater than the sum of the addendums."
