The Global Summit Edition of OutDoor by Ispo has been cancelled. The congress-format event had been scheduled to take place in Munich next week, Oct. 5-7.

"The desire for face-to-face meetings is strong among all industry participants, but the current challenges in the outdoor sector require a presence in the companies. That's why we believe it's the right move to embed the lectures, panel discussions and workshops in the Ispo Munich 2022 program," says Klaus Dittrich, CEO of trade show organizer Messe München.

In March, Messe München, together with the European Outdoor Group (EOG), had decided to postpone the event from July to October in order to restore face-to-face exchanges as the "heart of an OutDoor before Ispo."

However, he said, the industry's attention is now on challenges created by the Covid pandemic, such as production bottlenecks and securing the supply chain. "I am proud of the great concept and conference program that the EOG team created, which was well received based on the conversations we had with outdoor industry leaders. Therefore, I am very sad that the event cannot take place this year, because the reality is simply that the entire outdoor trade is facing other major challenges due to the current global situation, and it is difficult to get the leadership teams to put aside their work and come to a conference for three days at this time. We are now looking forward to Ispo Munich, where the whole industry will come together. There we will certainly find some of this very good content again," says Mark Held, President of the European Outdoor Group.

The next OutDoor by Ispo will return to the traditional period as a trade show platform and is planned for summer 2022. The exact date will be announced in the coming weeks. Similar to Ispo Munich 2022, part of the platform at OutDoor by Ispo 2022 will be open to Consumer Experts.
