Modefabriek has announced that it won’t go ahead with the live trade event, which was scheduled to take place on 11-12 July. The organizers of the Amsterdam-based fashion trade show state that due to the ever-changing measures, it was not clear for a long time how they should organize the implementation of the access policy.
"We are very pleased that so many brands have agreed to participate in Modefabriek, that gives us great confidence for the future. Through the numerous discussions we have with the market, we know that the brands and buyers are eager to see each other again. We therefore feel terrible that it can't happen now, because we were all set for the physical meeting," says Caroline Krouwels, director, Modefabriek.
The event will now for one more time run online. Brands and retailers can participate in the Digital Fashion Week Europe, which Modefabriek is organizing in collaboration with Copenhagen fashion trade show CIFF and digital wholesale platform Fashion Cloud from 6-8 July. According to Modefabriek, Dutch brands like Summum, Ichi, Goosecraft, Scotch & Soda, Juffrouw Jansen and Petrol Industries have already confirmed to take part in the digital event.
Apart from Digital Fashion Week Europe in July Modefabriek plans another live event in autumn 2021; more details shall be unveiled soon.
The next regular edition of Modefabriek is meant to run in January 2022.
