On January 24, Kingpins, the global denim supply chain show, will hold an event in Medellin, Colombia, to explore new business opportunities in South America.
The event will take place upon an invitation-only basis to be held at the Mero Bar in Medellín’s El Poblado neighborhood.
As part of the initiative's program, they organized a panel-style conversation with several denim suppliers discussing Kingpins’ role as a trade show and networking platform.
Denim consultant Catalina Marín will moderate the panel of experts, including Tomas Navarro from C.I. Jeans, Carlos Alberto Ochoa from Fabricato, Gilberto Campanatti from Tencel, Andrea Venier from Officina39 and Laura Dagli Orti from Tonello.
The “Kingpins Noche de Experiencia”, this is the name of the panel, will feature an in-depth conversation about Kingpins’ ethos and its efforts to foster a more responsible denim industry, and how Latin America can be part of this mission.

Within the show, they will also feature live music, as well as videos from recent Kingpins shows in Amsterdam and New York.
“Our goal at Kingpins is to connect the global denim community and inspire everyone to continually pioneer best practices for people and planet,” said Vivian Wang, managing director & global sales manager, Kingpins. “It’s been a long-held dream to expand our reach to Latin America, and Kingpins Noche de Experiencia is a significant step in that direction. We hope it will foster connection with South American denim lovers and jeans suppliers who share our values. With that in mind, we brought in an international slate of sponsors who are similarly focused on building a responsible denim future that is as sustainable as it is successful.”
Among sponsors of the event there will be: C.I. Jeans, a Colombian vertical manufacturer founded in 1993, offering cutting, sewing, laundry and finishing; Fabricato, a fifth-generation Colombian textile manufacturer founded in 1919 that generates 90% of its own energy .
