The 2023 edition of Packaging Première and PCD Milan, the exhibition showcasing the latest trends in deluxe packaging for the fashion, beauty, jewelry, fine food, wine & spirits sectors, has just closed its doors. 



The event was held at Fieramilanocity, Milan. It was attended by over 7,850 visitors, who were able to discover the latest products from over 300 exhibitors from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Bulgaria, Finland, China and Greece.

Attendees were also able to attend an extensive program of 18 conferences covering topics such as artificial intelligence and the metaverse, sustainability in cosmetics from a packaging and formulation perspective, as well as the olfactory experience and quality delivery in food & gifting, to name but a few. 




During the three days, important speakers, experts from the sector such as Evelio Mattos, Diana Verde Nieto, Jacques Heintz, Eva Lagarde, Riccardo Taverna, Rossella Muroni, Marco Piccolo Reynaldi and top national and international brands such as Beautystreams, Nashi Argan, Banfi, Coty, Acetaia Giusti, Comfort Zone, Cantine San Marzano, Impersive, Martesana, Panino Giusto, Cosaporto, Culti Milano and Lamborghini participated.




"We are particularly proud of this edition, which saw an important turnout of visitors, interested not only in discovering the latest news and trends in the sector but also in finding sources of creative inspiration," said Pier Paolo Ponchia, founder and director of Packaging Première. 




Innovation and sustainability were the main themes of the initiative. For this edition, visitors interested in gathering information on products and companies could receive it by bringing their smart badges close to a dedicated reader. In addition, the signs and displays usually made of forex, a plastic material consisting of PVC, were made of sustainable corrugated cardboard and all paper used for invitations and catalogs was FSC certified.

Thanks to the cooperation with Montecolino, a leading European manufacturer of flooring, upholstery and textile materials for industrial and residential use - the carpeting used for the event was collected at the end of the event and taken to a logistics center close to the pavilions, pressed into bales and sorted in equally close centers for plastic processing.




In order to reduce the use of plastic bottles during the event, the show in collaboration with specific partners, created limited edition flasks, part of the Water Bottle project, which could be purchased during the event and filled at the various free water dispensers inside the pavilion. 




Among the many innovative products, James Cropper for Maison Perrier-Jouët stood out. Thanks to Colourform, it created a new sustainable and ultralight packaging solution for gift boxes.

Inca launched a sustainable beauty proposal for Collistar and created an eco-designed packaging lipstick consisting of a carbon black-free polypropylene base and cap, complemented by a rechargeable aluminum mechanism. 




Robilant for My Cordenons - Fedrigoni Group unveiled the My Power Kit project, a new catalog concept that has gone beyond the classic, heavy 'big book' with paper and color packs, to become an agile, smart, light and functional tool.
