From October 19-29, 2022, Venice will host Venice Fashion Week, an initiative designed to showcase the creativity of the Italian region Veneto, cradle of many fashion brands and companies, and to disclose collaborative projects between international designers and Venetian masters of art.

The event will offer fashion shows, exhibitions and conferences focused on topics such as sustainable fashion and art crafts. Among the novelties there will be "Ornamenti," the salon of designer and handcrafted accessories to be held at Palazzo Sagredo from Oct. 26 to 28.

With this event Venice also wants to present and enhance its invaluable heritage of craft techniques and talents that includes ancient weaving mills, tailoring ateliers, design studios, workshops and laboratories.

The initiative, organized by Venezia da Vivere, was first held in Venice in 2013 to promote craftsmanship as a value for the future of the planet.

The 2022 edition will disclose a vast program of events including a series of conferences and workshops designed to highlight the protagonists of sustainable fashion and to address issues such as consumer education, sustainable tourism, and training for new artisans, upcycling as creativity and craftsmanship for the future of the Planet by promoting themes such as those addressed by "Make it last," the conference held in 2018 that presented Venice as a laboratory for designing sustainable lifestyles, and continued in 2019 with "Sustainable Fashion Day" organized with the British Consulate, Marina Spadafora of Fashion Revolution, British Ambassador Jill Morris and designers Patrick McDowell and Tiziano Guardini.
