Within the frame of a new synergistic program of physical and digital talks, from 16 to 20 May, the Digital Denim Week will also take place through www.premierevision.com, bringing together a program of digital events and the offer from the Première Vision Marketplace.

“We are very happy about the next edition as finally companies from all the nationalities we used to host before the pandemic are back,” commented Fabio Adami Dalla Val, show director, Denim Premiere Vision, disclosing the names of the show’s exhibitors.

“Among countries returning to show there will be finally back Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, China and Japan,” he continues. “Speaking about exhibitors we will host Advance Denim, Akkus Tekstil, Azgard9, Berto Industria Tessile, Bossa, Calik, Iskur Denim, Island Denim, Kassim, Kilim, Komet Metal, Kurabo, Kuroki, Maritas, Naveena, NDL, Orta, Pacific Jeans, Panama Trimmings, Polsan Button, Prosperity Textile, Rajby, Sharabati Denim and Soorty.”

Adami continued: “There will be also some new participants like, for instance, Square Denim from Bangladesh, and others returning to the show, like, for instance, Isko, that hasn’t participated in any trade show since 2016, and Isko Luxury by PG, a new collaboration project between Isko and denim designer Paolo Gnutti, debuting at Denim PV as a worldwide premiere.”

“This edition of the show is presenting a high concentrate of denim insiders that altogether count for a 1.5 billion meter of denim yearly production, about 50% of the world’s denim production which is about three billion meter annually, and about 85% of the overall medium-high quality denim worldwide production,” pointed out Adami Dalla Val.

Among other novelties, in addition to its regular exhibitors, the show will also present a new initiative - “PV Denim Fashion District” - showcasing a select group of 11 brands and designers presenting pieces they developed together with show exhibitors, including items which will be part of their collections for next season.

These are the brands that will be involved: A New Kind of Blue, from Germany; the Italian jewelry brand Angelo Verga; Blue of a Kind, from Italy; UK designer brand Denzil Patrick; Fade Out Label from Germany; Italy’s Gimmy Jeans; Jonathan Christopher from The Netherlands; Italian brands Milena Andrade and Peppino Peppino; and French brand Von Dutch.

The brands will present these exclusive pieces within specific spaces and context that can better express  their individual identities.

These collaborations will present small-size collections that can exemplify how the value chain can become shorter and always more integrated. “Through this initiative, we don’t want to distort these brands’ own identity. We rather want to create stronger ties among the players of the value chain and underline the role of a trade show like ours - that is, helping to enhance each player's own ability to innovate and experiment,” added Adami Dalla Val.

Other initiatives will include a conference that will take place at 6pm, on May 17, organized as a partnership with TextilWirtschaft magazine. Among participants there will be the weaver Naveena Denim Ltd (NDL) and the brand Tom Tailor from Hamburg, Germany, discussing their latest joint development, a jeans line made from hemp. Moderating the conference will be Maria Cristina Pavarini, senior features editor international, The SPIN OFF/TextilWirtschaft.

At 6.30pm of the same day, they will hold the Denim PV Party x NDL, a not-to-be-missed event, organised in partnership with Naveena Denim (NDL), to celebrate denim and its community. The event will take place in the lush gardens of the Arena Berlin on the banks of the Spree river for a Sunset Party to the sounds of jazzy music.

Along with digitaal and physical trend seminars, the program of the show will also include two Digital Denim Smart Talks to review the sector’s ecological progress and innovations in terms of sustainable materials - a Season Smart Talk presenting new eco-responsible denim developments and a Traceability Smart Talk meant to discover the traceable-production solutions offered by the show’s exhibitors.

"We are proud we could finally create this Berlin edition of Denim PV,” commented Adami Dalla Val. “This show has given us the opportunity to get in touch with a very lively, fresh and creative fashion environment,” he added, explaining that in 2020 Germany counted €2billion denim import, one of the highest levels of Europe.
