Denimsandjeans has been organizing denim shows globally for some years. Its founder Sandeep Agarwal has worked in the denim industry for over three decades and spent important efforts to bring the denim industry together in Bangladesh, India and Vietnam by holding shows collecting players from the local denim supply chain.

Denimsandjeans Japan was planned for March 2020 but got postponed due to covid and is now planned to take place on November, 1-2, 2022 at Sunshine City, Tokyo.






“Our main purpose of creating a denim supply chain show in Japan was to bring a denim dedicated even to the ‘Mecca of denim – Japan. All of us have been hugely inspired by the Japanese denim world, made up of carefully crafted denims," Agarwal said.

The show will host over 50 companies including some exclusive denim mills, indigo dyeing mills, laundries, garment units from Japan including Nihon Menpu, Collect, Whoval, Sanyo Senko, SAAB, Shinohara and many more. Among them there are Samurai Jeans, These exclusive companies will showcase alongside some well known global technology and chemical companies, like Tonello, Jeanologia, VAV, Officina39 and more. The show expects to welcome more than 1,500 buyers from all over the world.





Some Japanese jeans brands will also display a selection of their products within the show through special displays. Among them there will be Studio D’Artisan, Samurai Jeans, Yen Jeans and Dr. Denim.





A series of talks will also host key players of the industry, according to this calendar:




1st NOVEMBER 2022
2PM: “Vintage today and tomorrow”, with Yuji Honzawa, founder, Dr. Denim and Kawai Shinji, president Nihom Menpu





4.30PM: “A blue journey from the past to the future through US, Europe and Japan”, with Stefano Aldighieri, president, Another Design Studio





2nd NOVEMBER 2022
11AM: “Next generation sustainable and personalized denim technology”, with Moto Suzuki, Hap CO, Ltd and Covercross Oy Finland



2.30PM: “Art & Denim as a process of repetition”, with Manuel Gomez, creative leader, Officina39




3PM: “Simplify the Excellence”, with Akihito Kashino, Jeanologia





The show will also be preceded by Japan Denim Days (JDD), taking place on 29 and 30 October in Kojima. This event is sponsored by the local city authorities to promote denim manufacturing in Okayama prefecture.
