Confindustria, the General Confederation of Italian Industry, has appointed Renzo Rosso, founder and president of OTB Group, as delegate of the Association for Excellence, Beauty and Taste of Italian Brands.
"The Italian industry is recognized worldwide for its characteristics of excellence in terms of design, care, quality of materials and processing. An image of our production that feeds and conveys at the same time the love for Italy and the attractiveness of our country, I am proud to be able to count on the energy and pragmatism of Renzo Rosso who, with his entrepreneurial history of absolute success and international prestige, will be a valid ambassador for the Italian brands and will offer a significant contribution to the strategic and no longer postponable choices that we are all called upon to make for the relaunch of our economy, in Europe and in the world,” said Carlo Bonomi, president, Confindustria.
"Made in Italy is a fundamental asset of our country and those who give it value are the many entrepreneurial realities that carry on a unique and unrepeatable tradition,” commented Rosso. “I thank president Bonomi for his trust, I am ready to give my contribution and my experience, and I count on the support of the many prestigious Italian brands.”
Rosso, founder in 1978 of the Diesel brand, is now president of the international fashion group OTB, founded in 2002 and based in Breganze (Vicenza), which includes, in addition to Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni, Jil Sander, Viktor & Rolf, Staff International and Brave Kid. The group also holds a minority stake in the Amiri brand. In 2008, Rosso established OTB Foundation, the group's non-profit organization that works on projects to combat social inequalities and to contribute to the sustainable development of less advantaged people and areas in Italy and around the world.
