VF Corporation, a holding company that owns active-lifestyle brands including Vans, The North Face, Timberland and Dickies, appointed Silvia Onofri president of Napapijri.
Onofri will report to VF executive vice president and president of EMEA, APAC & emerging brands, Martino Scabbia Guerrini.
"Napapijri, which started as an Italian brand, has evolved into a global premium and sustainable outerwear icon. We are thrilled to welcome Silvia to the VF family as President of the brand," said Guerrini.
"Her industry experience and deep market knowledge will enable us to advance Napapijri's growth plan and unlock its full global potential," the manager continued, explaining that Onofri draws on an extensive 20-year background in the fashion industry, and particular expertise in driving brand positioning and business growth, in retail and wholesale sales, while improving operational efficiency, and achieving financial results.
Onofri began her career at Bulgari as marketing and product manager. She later increased her expertise in finance, merchandising, trade marketing, communications and sales roles.
Since 2008, Onofri has worked at Bally, where she rose from global trade marketing manager to chief commercial officer global wholesale & licenses, with responsibility for sales, strategic direction, vision and brand growth.
"I am excited to take on this role for Napapijri, with the aim of building on the incredible work done so far and leading the brand into its next phase of growth, both in EMEA and globally," said Onofri.
Onofri succeeds Massimo Ferrucci, the brand's former president, who left the company last year.
