C&A has announced that after decades of dedicated service, Martijn van der Zee, chief merchandise & sustainability officer of C&A Europe, left the company as of Monday, February 7th, 2022, to pursue new opportunities.

Martijn van der Zee joined C&A in 1992. Since March 2016, he has been a Member of the Management Board of C&A Europe. “I am grateful that Martijn with his long C&A experience supported the onboarding of the new leadership team,” said CEO Giny Boer.

In his time with C&A, van der Zee fulfilled various functions and roles, including key positions as head of regional marketing at C&A Netherlands (2008-2010), director of buying at C&A Europe (2010-2016) and chief merchandise & sourcing officer (2016-2021). Since July 2021, van der Zee was also responsible for sustainability at C&A Europe as chief merchandise & sustainability officer.

The successor of Martijn van der Zee will be announced in due course. In the meantime, his responsibilities will be taken over by the C&A Management Team.
