“After the closing down that has involved the entire industry in the last two years, we expected a significant shortage of raw materials, gas and oil. Also, because of the most recent geopolitical situations and because of petroleum being a scarce resource, we can expect even more dramatic supply bottlenecks in the future,” explained Alberto De Conti, head of Marketing & Fashion Division at Rudolf Group. “For this, about six months ago we started developing and launched Offuel, a line of products that meets two pressing needs of today - the definition of sustainable industrial practices rooted in renewable sources and the identification of economic alternatives.”

In recent times, Rudolf had already started thinking that the right direction was the transformation of waste - natural or not - into substances that can be further used in a more sustainable world.
The company had already launched the Rucogen Upcycle RNB, a dispersing agent, specific for denim washing, based on chemically recycled, PET plastic waste. Completing its offer of products is now Offuel, based upon upcycling natural waste substances.

In order to underline the characteristics of its newest development, Rudolf is presenting “It’s Time to Get Wasted”, an inspiration denim collection designed by Labor Made Inc, a Japanese design studio based in Hiroshima, presenting about 15 reinterpreted modern denim icons, finished with Offuel.
This collection, whose styles have a natural unisex feel and style, are focused around the Japanese word 'Mottainai' - meaning “Don't waste what is valuable”, a key aspect in Japanese culture. “The intent behind the collection is refining on how we embrace waste and discarded materials. Then we turn them into beautiful items that embrace today's modern culture and sustainable values
,” commented Gordon Muir, denim designer, business owner and design and marketing consultant at Labor Made.
