Isko, global denim manufacturer, has worked closely with British designer and LVMH prize finalist Bethany Williams, providing denim fabric for her exclusive capsule collection together with Browns which launched recently in-store at Browns East, London.

Part of the capsule collection are six denim styles including a vest, dungarees, jackets and trousers in both dark and light washes. These items are all made using Isko denim fabrics containing over 65% recycled materials and part of Isko’s R-Two 50+ program, the brand’s latest sustainable denim that comprise a minimum of 50% recycled content. The garments were all washed and finished at Isko’s brand-new product development center, Creative Room London, which officially opened earlier this year.

Bethany’s collection has been created for Browns Focus: Series Two, a platform dedicated to supporting new and emerging designers. The collection includes patch detailing on the denim from repurposed flags that were part of continuation of Bethany’s “All Our Stories” collection. The inclusion of the flags wants to underline that each denim item is entirely unique and one-of-a-kind. The capsule is also a continuation of the concept behind “The Hands that Heal Us” collection, in which Bethany drew inspiration from her social manufacturing partners and their focus on craftsmanship.

Isko’s denim used for this capsule was washed using a recycling water system, a closed loop process which provides the opportunity to re-use the same water for several weeks – and together with other technologies, this decreases the water impact by 90% when compared to traditional processes.

“We at ISKO have been inspired by the bold strides Bethany is taking to shake up the fashion industry when it comes to sustainability and so working with her felt like a natural partnership for us,” commented Melissa Clement, Head of Product and Operations, Creative Room Services by Isko.”

“Our core values are aligned - from our intent to utilise and recycle pre-existing materials and reduce virgin material usage, to our passion for producing and creating garments responsibly to protect our environment. It’s these causes that we collaboratively want to continue to drive forward and make real change. The garments used in this collection were all washed and finished at our brand-new London-based R&D center, which we are proud to open the doors of to further our goals,” she added.
