For s/s 2023, denim specialist Calik Denim developed E-Last, a selection of fabrics meant to minimize the sample production processes, a problem that is increasingly relevant to the textile industry in terms of sustainability.

Since the weft shrinkage of denim is different for every product, different values occur in all various lots of the same fabric in the template laying processes during the production of garment making.

Therefore, Calik Denim developed the E-Last concept that can help solve the problem. Thanks to this, the weft shrinkage rate is reduced to minimum, as the company claims it can reduce it to almost zero percent. Thanks to this new group of fabrics' dimensional stability, there are no measurement issues and, therefore, garment makers can lay the template, cut, sew and wash garments easily without experiencing any issues.

Moreover, this difficulty could be further reduced or eliminated, as E-Last fabrics also include powestretch and superstretch products, which are normally some of the most problematic ones due to shrinkage values that usually change in the garment making process. Furthermore, garments produced with this new technology guarantee a flawless look preventing baggy and saggy look and overcomes the puckering problem at waist and pockets of the jeans.
