During the last edition of Milano Unica, Eurojersey, the Italian textile manufacturer part of Carvico Group specialised in the production of Sensitive Fabrics knit-fabrics, presented Metropolis, a new fabric and project born from a partnership with Tessuti Italiani di Sondrio, Italian fabric manufacturer part of Marzotto Group producing linen, cotton and hemp fabrics.
Marcello Pipitone, young Milanese designer who owns his own made-to-measure menswear brand Marcello Pipitone Bonola, and Tintoria Emiliana, industrial garment dyeing specialist, were also involved respectively in designing the collection and in the garment-dyeing phase of the project.
The new project disclosed Metropolis, a double-face and double-color fabric destined for garment dyeing. The material is made by bonding together a layer of Sensitive Fabrics jersey with a Tessuti Di Sondrio fabric in cotton, or linen-cotton or cotton-Tencel blend.

By using special dyeing substances developed by Tintoria Emiliana, each material of Metropolis absorbs a specific color by using a single dyebath. The final effect are reversible vivid double-color multipurpose sport-couture lower-impact pieces.
"Metropolis was born from the desire to develop a series of innovative products akin to the needs of the citizen of a metropolis. The result is a technical, agile, lightweight, durable and elastic outfit with a cutting-edge design to meet the needs and personality of the inhabitants of a dynamic city," commented Marcello Pipitone.
