Cordura, the sturdy and tear-resistant fiber by Invista, has just launched its sustainable Cordura Re/Cor RN6 as part of its collection Cordura Advanced Fabrics. The launch recently disclosed as part of the Cordura Advanced Fabrics x Napapijri collaboration.
The new fiber is made by reusing waste from the manufacturing process and is made with 100% recycled nylon 6 yarn, and is engineered to meet the performance and durability specifications of the Cordura brand.
Following Napapijri Northfarer model’s switch to Cordura UltraLite Fabric earlier in 2022, its iconic Skidoo jacket has now been recreated using fully recycled Cordura Re/Cor RN6 as part of the brand’s collection titled “The Premium Outdoor Collection”.

“Napapijri has always worked with Cordura fabrics to create iconic products. This technology is synonymous with resistance, durability and responsibility; and producing long-lasting garments that encourage consumers to buy less and wear more, can help to break the fast-fashion habit. With the use of Cordura Re/Cor RN6, Napapijri can now offer products that are highly sustainable using responsibly recycled sources instead of virgin materials,” explained Paolo Pezzin, senior material manager, Napapijri.
“Our GRS certified post-consumer recycled polyester and pre-consumer RN6 fabric technologies, are both folded into our Cordura Re/Cor line. As the world evolves, we know a large piece of that will fall within stewardship and sustainability - we’ve put this work at the front of our efforts,” added Malayka Erpen, Global Consumer Segment Leader, Cordura.
