ACBC, the first B Corp company in the Italian footwear industry, has launched Wool Rubber, a new bio-based technology aimed at the sneakers sector. The two main ingredients of this innovation are wool, a pivotal raw material of the Italian textile industry, and a natural biodegradable fiber.Specifically, waste fibers from the manufacture of Made in Italy yarn fabrics are collected by ACBC and combined with a natural or synthetic rubber compound, depending on the performance requested by the footwear brand that will use it. The reference percentage of recycled material ranges between 20% and 40% according to an elaborate formula consisting of natural oils and mineral fillers. These filaments are characterized by being very short, no longer applicable to fabrics, but very high performance when included within the sole compound.

The use of this new technology for the production of ACBC's signature sneakers will result in an environmentally friendly accessory with non-slip properties that can improve grip on both wet and dry ground.

Since 2020, ACBC has been collaborating at more than 45 consulting projects and collaborations in partnership with big names in fashion such as Missoni, MSGM, Piquadro and Diadora always aimed at operating in order to respect and safeguard the planet.
