Levi’s Wellthread is R&D laboratory of the Levi’s brand constantly taking new steps in order to achieve new and more advanced goals in terms of sustainability and new lower impact productive processes.
For f/w 2022 it has developed a new selection of pieces made with a new vegetal indigo dyed denim produced by Cone Denim according to a circular optic that respects both the environment and workers.

For f/w 2022, however, this approach has extended to indigo, used for a high-quality, plant-based natural dyeing project for all Wellthread denim garments.
Among them, Levi’s created some denim garments made with natural plant-based indigo and dyeing techniques that require less water and fewer chemicals than normally used according to traditional denim industry productive methods. This new denim represents the darkest shade of indigo ever produced for this type of fabrics.
This new natural plant-based indigo denim used for Levi's Wellthread is dark and intense and used for Levi's Wellthread Type III Men's Trucker Jacket, and the Type II-inspired Women's Trucker Jacket along with other more fashion-driven garments for men and women such as, for example, a Western-style dress-shirt, and a comfortable Baggy Dad jeans for women, again made from the same Cone Denim.
All the garments in the Wellthread collection are designed to be recyclable: the fabric, back patch, Red Tab, zipper, stitching, embroidery, and even the inner labels are made from 100 percent cotton. This way the garments, once used to the long run and later recycled, can no longer be worn and can always be transformed into something different through upcycling.
