Old categories in fashion don't exist anymore. High-fashion meets streetwear and viceversa, as in the latest collaboration signed between the global luxury accessory brand Jimmy Choo and the work- and outdoor-inspired brand Timberland that launched a new footwear collection inspired by the city of New York.

The new capsule sees Timberland’s iconic Original Yellow Boot re-imagined through the glamorous lens of Jimmy Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi and sold at stellar prices as a reinvented 6-inches heel boot covered with Swarovski crystals and sold at €5,000, along with "more" affordable models as a black boot with crystals at its cuff sold at €1,250, andthe classic yellow boot carrying a graffiti-like sprayed Jimmy Choo logo at €750.

To bring a new dimension to their partnership, the two global brands tapped Harlem’s Fashion Row, a New York-based agency that provides opportunities for emerging black and Latin creatives, who introduced them to New York-native designer Shanel Campbell.



Campbell, whose work is deeply rooted in both her Caribbean heritage and native New York culture, is a Bronx native who puts afro-futurism, black history, and spirituality at the center of her artistic practice and brand, Bed on Water. 

 



By combining Campbell own vision with Jimmy Choo’s signature style of daring and confident glamour, the result is a unique fusion that celebrates the creative spirit of New York and has given life to the total reinvention of a cult classic.

“Working with Harlem’s Fashion Row and Shanel Campbell brought a new dimension to the collaboration. Shanel infused the collection with her authentic New York creative lens, a true New Yorker living and breathing the heartbeat of this vibrant city. This collaboration celebrates urban glamour, the resilience and eclecticism of the city’s dynamic community, a tribute to the ultimate New York City staple, Timberland boots,” said Sandra Choi, creative director, Jimmy Choo. 

 




The Jimmy Choo x Timberland collaboration was launched globally on 30th November 2022, at Jimmy Choo and Timberland locations and select premium retailers around the world.

“Collaborating with these two brands was one of the most interesting things I’ve ever done. I was constantly asking myself, what does it look like when the two worlds of Jimmy Choo and Timberland collide? It was an amazing experience collaborating with another woman in a creative director role. It was also so inspiring because it’s like looking into the future that I want to have one day,” said Shanel Campbell, designer.

The capsule comprises seven styles across men’s and women’s, including two hot pink velvet boots finished with transparent soles, two classic nubuck boots with a graffiti-inspired Jimmy Choo logo script, a black boot with a Swarovski crystal embellished collar and a thigh-high black leather harness boot that has dual styling function, transforming into a classic 6-inch silhouette with ease. 

 



The collection is completed with a heeled version of the iconic Timberland 6-inch boot covered entirely in Swarovski crystals, available in limited quantities exclusively at Jimmy Choo.
