WP Lavori in Corso/Work In Progress, the Italian company that has discovered and distributed brands including Vans, Barbour, Woolrich, Filson, Baracuta, Paraboot, Parachute, B.D. Baggies, Avon Celli, Blundstone and Spiewak has celebrated its 40th anniversary during the last edition of Pitti Uomo.

Within this frame, a very compact selection of the archive was presented during the exhibition "WP Lavori Archivio" held during the last January edition of Pitti Uomo inside the Sala Ottagonale of the Fortezza.

WP Lavori was founded in Bologna in 1982 by Giuseppe and Cristina Calori. Aim of their initiative was to explore the world, discover - and in some cases trying to repurpose - interesting products and brands that could tell particular stories and inspire precise lifestyles, while never sacrificing a high standard of quality.

Over these four decades, Cristina Calori, entrepreneur and leader of the group, has built an archive of about 80,000 garments that not only include unique pieces collected through her company's research trips and many pieces of the brands the company worked with, but also an archive of Gianfranco Ferrè collections, 5,000 specialised rare fashion books, catalogues of period fabric collection, and the paper archive of the Spiewak brand dating back to 1904, among other unique single fashion and textile rare exemplars.

Among various initiatives connected to this celebration, the company has decided to open its archives to external consultation and for rental to insiders, school and specialists within the fashion sector.
