The Worn Wear van will again travel the Alps to various snow resorts in France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Italy and will offer skiers and snowboarders free repairs for broken zippers, punctured or torn fabrics, buttons and rips, as well as teach them how to repair their own gear. The Worn Wear will stop in Italy in Aosta March 11-13.

The Worn Wear initiative encourages customers to extend the life of their garments. Patagonia's repair team aboard the van will offer free fixes for any brand of clothing, serving people on a first-come, first-served basis.

The van has been hand-built to an original design, so it can travel to the most diverse locations in Europe. It will house technical repair equipment and bring lots of positive energy along the way. It will also show people how to keep their snow gear in good condition for multiple seasons and teach them how to repair garments and zippers and how to waterproof jackets.

Patagonia's Worn Wear program was created in 2013 to encourage customers to take care of their garments, adopting correct washing methods and repairing them when necessary.

In 2019 Worn Wear kept 56 Worn Wear repair events across Europe that involved 25,000 people and helped to repair 100,288 garments.

Extending the life of the clothes is essential to reduce humans’ impact on the planet. It also means consumers don't have to buy new apparel, thus avoiding the CO² emissions, waste production and water consumption associated with textile production cycles.

According to UK-based group WRAP, if everyone simply kept and wore the garments they already own for an additional nine months, individuals could reduce their relative environmental footprint in terms of CO² emissions, waste and water consumption by around 20-30%.
