On 21 December 2022, Kathrin and Sebastian Proft, owners and managing directors of three sustainable fashion companies from Germany and Austria, announced the acquisition of the assets of insolvent Kings of Indigo (KOI), according to a note from the two new owners.
After having acquired the Bavarian fashion retailer Dollinger, followed by the Stapf brand from insolvency proceedings in 2017, and Feli & Hans (formerly H. Moser) in 2019, the entrepreneurial pair is now taking another important step by acquiring KOI.
The relaunch will start through Kings of Indigo, a Dutch B.V. that was registered on December 21, 2022, in order to rebuild the company and start business again under the guidance of Sebastian Proft who will lead the sales and finance department of the company himself.
Most of the original team will remain in place as the company, that will continue to be based in Amsterdam.

B2B orders can already be placed again, while Proft expressed confidence that the timely production of the spring/summer 2023 collection will essentially succeed along with its deliveries, as well as sampling for fall/winter 2023.
Kings of Indigo will participate in international shows again. It will exhibit at Seek in Berlin from 17 January to 19 January 2023, and at Modefabriek in Amsterdam, taking place from 22 January to 23 January 2023.
