In 2023 Pleats Please Issey Miyake is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Since its debut in 1993, although in those years no one was still talking about no-size or size-inclusive fashion, Pleats Please Issey Miyake was born with the goal of creating clothes that conveyed freedom and joy and could be worn by everyone.

After seasons spent devoting themselves to research, the creative team led by the renowned Japanese designer found the fabric they were looking for in the new project by discovering a material that was light, soft, and slightly shiny. Through careful development work on the fibers, they made it anti-fold and anti-static, comfortable to wear and easy-care.

Today, the brand’s garments made from this particular material continues to offer the same qualities and can be rolled and folded compactly. In addition, all items are versatile enough to be worn for both everyday wear and special occasions.

They can, moreover, be worn by many more consumers due to the elasticity obtained during the process of pleating the fabric, which allows great freedom of movement and fits suitable for different physicalities.

To mark the special occasion, the brand has decided to present some special projects like, for instance, small capsules each month.

For May 2023, Pleats Please is launching a series of garments including tunics, cardigans, tops, pants and dresses in bright colors, or pastel tones inspired by the brand's original logo.

The special edition is characterised by linear silhouettes, the hallmark of the brand, declined in seven colors such as, for example, dark gray, salmon pink, orange, pastel green, light blue and burgundy, easily adaptable to each other.

Also, part of the celebrations is the Path series featuring an abstract print of the letters of the words "Pleats Please," which seem to move freely across the surface of the garments, available in two variants-a vibrant multicolor and a chic monochrome.
