For the second year running, Kim Jones, artistic director of Dior's men's collections, has teamed up with Parley for the Oceans, an environmental organization and collaboration network taking action against major ocean threats, with a strategy called Parley AIR, acronym for Avoid, Intercept, Redesign.

Together, they have conceived a committed beachwear capsule for fall 2023 that reflects the house's desire to move towards innovative and sustainable fashion.

The project was inspired by the deep ties that unite Dior with nature, born of Christian Dior's passion for flowers and gardens, and for the sea since his childhood years. By sharing this love and will to preserve the beauty of the undersea world, Kim Jones used responsible materials for this collection, composed of 96% recycled fabrics.

Dior and Parley started a joint research project in 2019, which has given life to a selection of new yarns and fabrics designed from Parley Ocean Plastic, created with upcycled marine plastic debris and fishing gear recovered from coastlines and remote islands around the world, including the Maldives, Dominican Republic and Sri Lanka.

The material then was reworked in Dior's ateliers. By picking this challenge, its artisans created high-quality fabrics as seersucker, silky knit and a technical fabric made with this upcycled alternative to virgin polyester.

The pieces of the collection combine comfort and elegance, technicality and refinement for a wardrobe made up of essential, mix-and-match pieces including shorts, pants, tees, polo shirts and sweaters. A reversible jacket and an openwork tank top with the Dior signature complete this exceptional selection.

They are offered in joyful shades, from coral to lemon, with a contrasting cameo of gray - Monsieur Dior's favorite color.

Iconic motifs such as the Dior Italic or the CD Diamond embellish these models. An undersea shot is printed on the outfits, including surf wetsuits using recycled jerseys made with VISSLA, a global sustainable surfer brand, and a stole.

A surfboard designed in collaboration with Notox, a Made in France ecofriendly sufboard brand, features cutting-edge technical properties and completes the capsule that is both desirable and sustainable.
