European retailer C&A and material sciences' company Recover have joined forces in a new strategic four-year partnership to bring high-quality recycled cotton to the everyday apparel. The two companies’ commitment to circularity will be visible in spring 2022 with the first collection made with Recover fiber as part of C&A's Clockhouse range, expected to hit stores in April 2022.
C&A and Recover have decades of experience within their respective fields and have been involved for long in achieving increasingly new results in circularity. The partnership aims to place recycled cotton as the core ingredient of a more sustainable fashion industry, using Recover, as the main cotton source. Recover will integrate its fiber into C&A's supply chain structure, and will provide tech support to help the spinners and weavers optimize their yarns and fabrics.
The partnership with Recover marks a step that confirms how C&A, that recently opened its Factory for Innovation in Textiles in Monchengladbach/Germany (also see here), wants to take sustainability seriously and accelerate its positive momentum in the pursuit of its 2028 Global Sustainability Strategy.
“More sustainable fashion must not be a niche product. Our collaboration with Recover is a milestone on our way towards a more sustainable future characterized by quality fashion at affordable prices,” said Aleix Busquets Gonzalez, Director Global Sustainability, C&A.
